Nobody knew about Michael and Khim's breathtaking Maui elopement besides the couple, the minister, and their photographer, Angela. The two traveled from California, where the bride is a nurse and the groom is a tattoo artist. They were looking to have something intimate and romantic, so when Khim came across Haleakala, a volcano by the sea, in her search, Michael was immediately on board with the idea.
"I agreed it was the best place she could choose not only visually, but spiritually," he told POPSUGAR. "Like us, we are opposites like water and fire, and Haleakala was a great place of representation of our relationship and the best place we could think to bring us two together."
The original plan was to go to the top of Haleakala for portraits before the wedding ceremony and marry at the summit, but the wind forced them to change gears. They were able to enjoy bright blue skies, fluffy clouds, and even a view of Molokai in the distance, but the temperature was 45 degrees with gusts up to 50 miles per hour. Despite the conditions, Michael and Khim were still able to have a picturesque elopement. They headed a little further down the mountain, where the wind broke and a golden light shined down as they exchanged vows, Michael's favorite moment.
"Without a word prepared, I feel being at the summit with my soon-to-be wife was like no other moment in my life," he said. "We spoke from our hearts, and the universe was there to support us into our future."
After the two officially became husband and wife, they decided to brave the cold and run up to the summit at sunset for photos. The fact that no one else knew about their elopement allowed it to be even more special to them.
"Without any other witnesses aside from the minister and Angela, we were able to share and connect in a way that was only personal and meant for us," Michael said. "That moment was very private to me, and being able to share it with my wife alone was something I would never trade for anything."

"Who?†"Jate Blackberry. He knows me well enough.†"I never heard of him. Most like he’s dead.†"Lord Chyttering, then.â€
"That one I know. He burned on the Blackwater.†"Hookface Will? Hal the Hog?†"Dead and dead,†the crossbowman said, but his face betrayed a sudden doubt. "You wait there.†He vanished again. Davos waited. Gone, all gone, he thought dully, remembering how fat Hal’s white belly always showed beneath his grease-stained doublet, the long scar the fish hook had left across Will’s face, the way Jate always doffed his cap at the women, be they five or fifty, highborn or low. Drowned or burned, with my sons and a thousand others, gone to make a king in hell. Suddenly the crossbowman was back. "Go round to the sally port and they’ll admit you.â€
Davos did as he was bid. The guards who ushered him inside were strangers to him. They carried spears, and on their breasts they wore the fox-and-flowers sigil of House Florent. They escorted him not to the Stone Drum, as he’d expected, but under the arch of the Dragon’s Tail and down to Aegon’s Garden. "Wait here,†their sergeant told him. "Does His Grace know that I’ve returned?†asked Davos. "Bugger all if I know. Wait, I said.†The man left, taking his . Aegon’s Garden had a pleasant piney smell to it, and tall dark trees rose on every side. There were wild roses as well, and towering thorny hedges, and a boggy spot where cranberries grew. Why have they brought me here? Davos wondered. Then he heard a faint ringing of bells, and a child’s giggle, and suddenly the fool Patchface popped from the bushes, shambling along as fast as he could go with the Princess Shireen hot on his heels. "You come back now,†she was shouting after him. "Patches, you come back.†When the fool saw Davos, he jerked to a sudden halt, the bells on his antlered tin helmet going ting-a-ling, ting-a-ling. Hopping from one foot to the other, he sang, "Fool’s blood, king’s blood, blood on the maiden’s thigh, but chains for the guests and chains for the bridegroom, aye aye aye.†Shireen almost caught him then, but at the last instant he hopped over a patch of bracken and vanished among the trees. The princess was right behind him. The sight of them made Davos smile. He had turned to cough into his gloved hand when another small shape crashed out of the hedge and bowled right into him, knocking him off his feet. The boy went down as well, but he was up again almost at once. "What are you doing here?†he demanded as he brushed himself off. Jet-black hair fell to his collar, and his eyes were a startling blue. "You shouldn’t get in my way when I’m running.†"No,†Davos agreed. "I shouldn’t.†Another fit of coughing seized him as he struggled to his knees. "Are you unwell?†The boy took him by the arm and pulled him to his feet. "Should I summon the maester?†Davos shook his head. "A cough. It will pass.†The boy took him at his word. "We were playing monsters and maidens,â€

"The ugly princess!†said John; "she ought really to have the rod; that. If I were only the old king she should be punished A Bar Math!â€
Then they heard the people outside shouting, "Hurrah!†The princess came by; and she was really so beautiful that all the people forgot how wicked she was, and that is why they cried "Hurrah!†Twelve beautiful virgins , all in white silk gowns, and each with a golden tulip in her hand, rode on coal-black steeds at her side. The princess herself had a snow-white horse, decked with diamonds and rubies. Her riding-habit was all of cloth of gold, and the whip she held in her hand looked like a sunbeam; the golden crown on her head was just like little stars out of the sky, and her mantle was sewn together out of more than a thousand beautiful butterflies' wings. In spite of this, she herself was much more lovely than all her clothes human resources jobs.
When John saw her, his face became as red as a drop of blood, and he could hardly utter a word. The princess looked just like the beautiful lady with the golden crown, of whom he had dreamt on the night when his father died . He thought her so enchanting that he could not help loving her greatly. It could not be true that she was a wicked witch, who caused people to be hanged or beheaded if they could not guess the riddles she put to them.
"Every one has permission to aspire to her hand, even the poorest beggar. I will really go to the castle, for I cannot help doing it
They all told him not to attempt it, for certainly he would fare as all the rest had done. His travelling companion too tried to dissuade him; but John thought it would end well. He brushed his shoes and his coat, washed his face and his hands, combed his beautiful yellow hair, and then went quite alone into the town and to the palace.
"Come in!†said the old king, when John knocked at the door.
John opened it, and the old king came towards him in a dressing-gown and embroidered slippers; he had the crown on his head, and the sceptre in one hand and the orb in the other. "Wait a little!†said he, and put the orb under his arm, so that he could reach out his hand to John. But as soon as he learned that his visitor was a suitor, he began to weep so violently that both the sceptre and the orb fell to the ground, and he was obliged to wipe his eyes with his dressing-gown. Poor old king Hong Kong shopping!

All sorts of higher abstractionsbring with them the same kind of impalpable appeal. Remember those passages from Emersonwhich I read at my last lecture. The whole
universe of concrete objects, as we know them, swims, not only for such a transcendentalist writer, but for all of us, in a wider and higher universe ofabstract
ideas, that lend it its significance. As time, space, and the ether soak through all things so (we feel) do abstract and essential goodness, beauty, strength,
significance, justice, soak throughall things good, strong, significant, and just.
Such ideas, and others equally abstract, form the background for all our facts, the fountain-headof all the possibilities we conceive of. They give its "nature," as
we call it, to every special thing.
Everything we know is "what" it is by sharing in the nature of one of these abstractions. We cannever look directly at them, for they are bodiless and featureless
and footless, but we grasp allother things by their means, and in handling the real world we should be stricken with helplessnessin just so far forth as we might
lose these mental objects, these adjectives and adverbs andpredicates and heads of classification and conception.
This absolute determinability of our mind by abstractions is one of the cardinal facts in ourhuman constitution. Polarizing and magnetizing us as they do, we turn
towards them and fromthem, we seek them, hold them, hate them, bless them, just as if they were so many concretebeings. And beings they are, beings as real in the
realm which they inhabit as the changing thingsof sense are in the realm of space.

"There’s the colony. Will you come in first, doctor university financial assistance, and have—†he reconsidered the words and cleared his throat—"and have—a cup of tea?â€
Murchison had noticed the break in the invitation, and had reddened.
"No, thanks. We had better walk, I suppose?â€
"Sit light, doctor; we have a sort of road, though it ain’t exactly Roman.â€
The farmer passed Murchison the reins, and climbed down, the trap swaying like a small boat anchored in a swell. He opened a gate leading into the field, his white mackintosh flapping about his legs.
"Not worth while getting up again,†he said, laconically. "Drive her on, doctor, I’ll follow.â€
Murchison heard the click of the gate, and the squelch of Mr. Carrington’s boots in the mud, as the trap bumped at a walking pace towards the zinc sheds in the field. The larger of the two resembled a coach-house, and could be closed at one end by two swinging doors. The rain was still rattling on the roof as Murchison drove up, and a thin swirl of smoke drifted out sluggishly from the darkness of the interior. The two tents had a soaked and slatternly appearance. Empty bottles, old tins, scraps of dirty paper, and miscellaneous rubbish littered the ground. On a line slung between two chestnut poles three dirty towels were hanging kbox 70w, either to wash or to dry?
As the trap stopped at the end of the rough road, Murchison could see that the larger shed was like a big hutch full of live things crowded together. A litter of straw, ankle deep, lay round the walls. A fire burned in the middle of the earth floor. The faces that were lit up by the light from the fire were coarse, quick-eyed, and hungry, the faces seen in London slums hotel management trainee.

Hawking's disability was severe, and even walking with crutches was very difficult for him
Under Sciama's guidance, Hawking began thinking about the Big Bang theory: the idea that the universe began as a tiny speck that subsequently expanded. Nowadays this is widely accepted, but at the time it was still up for debate Dream beauty pro hard sell.
Hawking realised that the Big Bang was rather like the collapse of a black hole in reverse.
He developed this idea with Penrose. In 1970 the two of them published a paper showing that general relativity implies that the universe must have begun as a singularity.
By this time Hawking's disability was severe, and even walking with crutches was very difficult for him. In late 1970, as he was getting laboriously into bed one night, he had a sudden realisation about black holes: one that would spark a series of discoveries about how they behaveexecutive development training.

"It is perfectly possible to condemn the politics of the Netanyahu government without at the same time punishing the entire Israeli population - and ourselves as well - by refusing the contacts that are so important for mutual understanding."
The guiding principle of the French soft left remains the old notion that if only enough good people from the two sides got together and talked, all could be resolved.
For some it is naive; for others a necessary clinging to hope.
What is certain is that demonstrations of pro-Israeli friendship like this are increasingly rare in Europe.
Is that because Israel's actions are becoming so egregious? Because of a new alliance between the far-left and Europe's increasingly populous Muslims? The debate on the generals of the First World War tends to focus heavily on the British generals, even though other countries certainly produced some spectacularly unsuccessful leaders, such as the Italian General Cadorna, the French General Nivelle, much of the Russian high command and, at least at the very end of the war, Germany’s General Ludendorff. Although the public debate centres on British commanders, don’t forget these non-British examples of military ineptitudereenex.
The first people to expose the British generals to angry ridicule were the war poets, who blamed them for sending men into the appalling conditions of the Western Front. Later on, in the 1960s, many people looked back and saw parallels between the generals of the Western Front and the controversial tactics being used by American generals in the Vietnam Warreenex.
Historians said that leaders such as Sir Douglas Haig or Sir John French – the British commanders on the Western Front – were foolish, stuck in their ways and uncaring about their men. Books started appearing with titles like The Donkeys or British Butchers and Bunglers of the Great War: it wasn’t difficult to work out what the authors of these books thought about the generals of the First World War!
More recently, historians have looked in much greater detail at the problems the British generals faced. They’ve discovered that some of the accusations aimed at the generals aren’t really true: far from being stuck in their ways, they actually tried all sorts of new techniques and new technology to break through the deadlock of the trenches. They were facing a type of warfare that had simply never existed before, with completely new weapons like tanks, poison gas and aircrafreenext.

Holmes' mitigating factors, including mental illness, do not outweigh the crime, the jury determined on Monday.
Now the proceedings move to the third and final phase of the sentencing where victims will make impact statements.
Victims and their relatives will soon have the opportunity to tell the court about how Holmes' crimes have affected their lives.
During the second phase, Holmes' family and childhood friends shared memories of him as a loving child who became more isolated as he grew up.
Both Holmes' parents took the stand during sentencing to plead for his lifereenex.
"I didn't realize that his loudest cry for help was his silence," Arlene Holmes, James' mother, told court prosecutorsreenex.
During his trial, defence lawyers argued, unsuccessfully for Holmes to be found not guilty by reason of insanity.
But instead the jury of nine women and three men convicted him on all 165 counts of murder, attempted murder, and possession of explosives.
The jury will next determine in the coming days whether the 27-year-old should be executed by lethal injection.

But in large parts of the Middle East, where the prospect of a stronger Iran is viewed with dread, there was never any real sense of suspense.
Israel, Saudi Arabia and the other states who feel threatened by the terms of the new deal have been resigned for months to the idea that the US-led world powers were determined to have an agreement and were prepared to offer major concessions to get one.
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who sees Iran as a mortal enemy, has already said that the agreement shows the dangers of being ready to do a deal at any price, and the Sunni Arab states of the Gulf, who see Iran as a dangerous and aggressive neighbour, will also feel that a much, much harder bargain could have been struck.
An Israeli minister, Danny Danon, put it in lurid termsPicosecond.
"This agreement is not just bad for Israel, it's dangerous for the entire free world. Giving the world's largest supporter of terrorism a free pass in developing nuclear weapons is like providing a pyromaniac with matches," he said.

Navigating the income inequality and red tape of one of the world’s largest economies meant several years of growing pains. "Ultimately the buying power of Indian individuals is very different and it’s extremely price sensitive†he said.
Firms eager to tap into India’s growing middle class can find it difficult to understand the business landscape amid complicated regulations for businesses and weaker protections of things like property rights. The county ranks just 134 out of 189 on the Ease of Doing Business index in 2013 conducted by the World Bank Group.
But many companies have found a way to navigate through the red tape minefield, even tapping into the country’s local talent of highly trained strategic managers from some of the world’s best business schools.
That’s true for DDI. A decade after setting up shop in India, the calculated move is paying off for the company. It now has more than 100 employees across several cities in India and offers corporate training that’s created specifically for the unique challenges of doing business in India.
For companies just entering the country, persistence is key, said Samiran Chakraborty, the regional head of research for South Asia for Standard Chartered Bank. "Historically, because we didn't have the fossil evidence to show there was hominin diversity during the middle Pliocene, we thought there was only one lineage, one primitive ancestor - in this case Australopithecus afarensis, Lucy - giving rise to the next.
"That hypothesis of linear evolution has to be revisited. And now with the discovery of more species, like this new one... you have another species roaming around.
"What this means is we have many species that could give rise to later hominins, including our own genus Homo."
Dr Haile-Selassie said that even more fossils need to be unearthed, to better understand the path that human evolution took.
He added that finding additional ancient remains could also help researchers examine how the different species lived side-by-side - whether they mixed or avoided each other, and how they shared food and other resources in their landscape.

The Arctic hole would have been large enough to affect northern Europe, including the UK, scientists say.
The Montreal Protocol is regarded as one of the most important global treaties in history.
The protocol provides a lesson for the future and we must hope that the coming climate change talks show the same foresight
Dr Jonathan Shanklin, British Antarctic Survey
It was signed in 1987 after the discovery of a hole in the ozone layer above the Antarctic, the part of the upper atmosphere where ozone is found in high concentrations.
Ozone absorbs ultraviolet radiation, preventing most of it from reaching the ground.
Concerted international action led to the signing in Montreal of a UN agreement which phased out ozone-depleting chemicals, including chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) - once widely used in fridges and spray cans.
The new research, led by scientists at the University of Leeds, simulated what the ozone hole would have been like today if nothing had been done.æ›´æ–°ã¯ã—ãªãã¦ã‚‚上野(ã“ã†ãšã‘)ã®å›½ã¯é‚£é 公豬直接å«æˆ"朱è€å››äºŒæœˆçš„æ–™å³æ£æ‚„然掉隊å›é€ƒç´«è‰²çš„å°èŠ±åœ¨é¢¨ä¸è¼•è¼•æ–曳pelengkap untuk mengunyah sirih.ã¶ã«ã¯é–“éš”ãŒæŽ¨ç†ãŒé–“é•çœŒè°é¸ã¯ä¸‹è¨˜ã®çŠ¶ã‚‹æ—¥ã‚‚燃ãˆå°½ã
